Descriptions. Birch Buds contain volatile oils, ascorbic acid, bitters, flavonoids, tannins, sugars. Decoction and infusion of birch buds are considered to have diuretic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, cholagogic and wound healing properties. Some medics observed great increase of urination under influencing of this decoction and substantial abatement of edemas even when other heart and the diuretics did not help.
Use. The infusion from buds will be of great help for acute and chronic shapes of eczema, wounds, erosion of a skin, bedsores and skin ulcers. Birch Buds decoction is also used as analeptic for nervous system disorders, as cholagogue for liver and biliary tract illnesses and as a source of vitamins. Birch buds can be used as hygienic bath in case of insignificant skin scratches and grazes.
