Cudweed Herb

Description. Cudweed contains plenty if vitamins and important nutrients. The plant consists of tannins, volatile oils, alkaloids, carotin, Vitamin K, thiamine, ascorbic acid. Cudweed is antiseptic, anticatarrhal, anti-inflammatory, astringent, diaphoretic and diuretic. It may also have aphrodisiac and anti-depressant effects. It is used both internally and externally for numerous health problems. Cudweed preparations have vasodilating and hypotensive properties, and slow down cardiac rhythm. Cudweed is useful for hardly healing wounds, erosions, ulcers, burns, chronic gastritis, light forms of essential hypertension, high nervous irritability, insomnia and other disorders.

Uses. Cudweed is taken for essential hypertension in the form of tincture. Cudweed is also recommended for chronic enteritis, colitis, dysentery. It's good for constipations and hemorrhoids in the form of therapeutic enema. Cudweed decoction is taken internally for trombophlebitis. It is used topically for wounds, ulcers and burns. Cudweed decoction can be used as a gargle in cases of stomatitis, toothache, oral ulcers, quinsy and chronic tonsillitis.
